科幻史係指科幻嘅歷史。

英國科幻之父 H. G. 威爾斯;佢俾人稱為「科幻界嘅莎士比亞」。

有學者認為,遠古時期嘅神話同文學當中經已有一啲類似現代科幻嘅橋段,例如公元 2 世紀嘅古希臘嘅文學創作入面有用到「角色去咗異世界」同外星生命等嘅橋段[1][2],不過當時嘅世界仲未有現代科學方法呢回事,所以未有好似現代科幻噉對科學發現作出推想嘅科幻作品[3]

一般認為,真正算係「科幻」嘅作品源自中世紀後幾個世紀嘅歐洲:17 至 18 世紀嘅歐洲正處於啟蒙時期(Age of Enlightenment)同科學革命(Scientific Revolution)嘅時代,歐洲人開始對科學哲學產生興趣,出現咗「要用科學方法探究自然」(而唔係好似中世紀歐洲噉,視教會為知識嘅主要來源)嘅思潮[3]。例如英國哲學家培根(Francis Bacon)喺 1626 年寫咗本小說,想像一個人類靠科學發現新知識嘅未來社會,俾人指係最早期嘅科幻作品之一[4];而喺 18 世紀,小說成為咗一種受人認同嘅文學型式,英國作家瑪莉雪萊(Mary Shelley)喺 1818 年出嘅小說《科學怪人》(Frankenstein)等嘅作品為現代英文科幻文學奠定咗基礎[5][6]。及後 19 世紀尾嘅著名科幻作家 H. G. 威爾斯(H. G. Wells)寫出咗《時光機》(The Time Machine)等嘅重要作品,佢創始咗時間旅行等多條廿一世紀科幻都仲用緊嘅橋[7],因而俾人稱為科幻界嘅莎士比亞[8][9]

廿世紀 編輯

廿世紀係科幻正式進入全盛嘅時代。隨住科學同科技嘅快速發展,西人愈嚟愈有興趣睇科幻:美國科幻雜誌Amazing Stories》(粵文翻譯:驚人故仔)喺 1926 年成立,係人類史上第一本專登科幻故仔同講科幻嘢嘅雜誌;而及後嘅 1930 年代開始出現咗大量讚揚當代科技發展嘅科幻作品[10]。同時,電影同電視等嘅媒體崛起,而呢啲媒體亦都有科幻作品[11]。到咗 1950 年代,廿一世紀見到嘅主要科幻橋段都成嗮形-當時經已有太空歌劇型嘅作品,而且有作品喺度用人類進化超級士兵平行世界等嘅橋段;呢啲科幻橋段就算係喺廿一世紀初嘅科幻界都仲具有相當嘅影響力[12]數碼鬅客呢種科幻美學喺 1960 年代開始出現[13],並且喺 1980 年代由美國加拿大作家威廉吉森(William Gibson)嘅作品普及化[14][15]。數碼鬅客嘅成功吸引到科幻作家仿傚同創造出蒸汽鬅客柴油鬅客等嘅作品類型[16]。另一方面,日本嘅媒體又喺廿世紀中同廿世紀尾興起,日本嘅創作者參考咗西人嘅作品,創出咗多部科幻作品,早期例子有 1954 年嘅科幻電影《哥斯拉》(Godzilla)[17]

西方同日本嘅科幻作品有好多都取得咗重大嘅成功,呢啲作品令科幻呢種體裁去勻全世界。到咗 2000 年,包括大中華地區在內嘅世界各地都有科幻愛好者同創作者[18][19],例如香港都有倪匡等嘅作家寫科幻[20]
