Svenska: KOPP, två stycken, med fat. Klockformiga med skålformiga fat. Dekor i underglasyrblått. Dekor med vapensköld på fatet. På koppens och fatets utsida tre grupper (två grupper lika) i mitten en vas med en spira, till höger därom den "ljudande jadestenen" med långa band, på ömse sidor blommor och blad; den tredje gruppen med en vas med ett lotusblad som lock, till höger om vasen ett bokpaket, ombundet med band, på ömse sidor blommor och blad.Inköpt av Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, 26 november 1888, hos Bukowskis Konsthandel. English: Cup with saucer, a pair. Qianlong, Qing dynasty. Two porcelain tea cups and saucers, porcelain decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. Painted in a delicate outline style with the arms of the Dutch arms of Abeleven. On the base is a monogram.Heraldic devices were sent to China to be copied in the form of drawings and bookplates.Probably made for Abraham Abeleven (1714-1776), an alderman in 1738 and Cashier-General of the VOC in Batavia in 1740, although his father, Arnoldus, was also a director. This service not recorded in Kroes, but see pp. 260-261 for a service decorated with the same arms in identical fashion but en grisaille. |
