Deutsch: k-Means-Algorithmus-Clusteranalyse auf einem Datensatz mit Gauss-verteilten Clustern. k-Means erwartet gleich große Cluster, die Partitionierung mittels Voronoi-Zellen kann die wahre Clusterstruktur nicht darstellen. Selbst die von k-Means gefundenen Clusterzentren sind nur annähernd korrekt.
Visualisiert mit ELKI. English: Cluster analysis with k-Means on a gaussian-distribution-based data set. k-Means is unable to handle the different cluster sizes (spatial sizes) and is barely able to approximate the cluster centers. See File:EM-Gaussian-data.svg for the results when using the EM-algorithm, which can deal with clusters of different spatial extend.
