減數分裂拉丁文meiosis)係一種好特別嘅細胞分裂,會搞到染色體嘅數目減一半,變做單倍體細胞,每條染色體都係嚟自於佢嘅親本細胞(parent cell)[1] 。呢個過程會發生喺所有用有性生殖嚟繁殖嘅細胞生物體入面,包括動物植物、同埋真菌[2][3][4][5] 。同有絲分裂唔同嘅係,減數分裂會做兩次分裂,分做四粒子細胞,而且子細胞同親本細胞嘅基因大多數都唔一樣,因為喺分裂嗰陣會互換(crossing over)。減數分裂同有絲分裂一樣有前期、前中期、中期、後期同埋末期嘅階段,但係由於會分裂兩次,所以夾埋有十個階段。
