描述
English: A heightmap of Penang Island and surrounding islands with contour discontinuities every 100 m, plotted from ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model data at http://step.esa.int/auxdata/dem/SRTMGL1 and coloured as follows:
  • Alpha channel: Height of 0 m (sea level) is fully transparent, otherwise fully opaque
  • Green channel: Height normalised from 0 m (value 0) to 816 m (value 255)
  • Red channel: Height in metres modulo 100
  • Blue channel: Height in metres divided by 100, then floored
Hence, each point's blue value * 100 + red value gives its height in metres.
