1954年之前，攝氏零度同一百度分別定義咗做喺一個大氣壓力之下熔點同埋水嘅沸點。呢個定義，而家嘅學校都重教緊。不過，1954年之後，國際協定將攝氏系統重新定義。絕對零度係 −273.15 °C，三相點就係 0.01 °C。呢度嘅水要指定係維也納標準海水Vienna Standard Mean Ocean Water）。呢個定義將攝氏度同開爾文溫標呢個國際單位制基本單位直接連埋一齊，兩者嘅距離比例係一比一，每一點都相差273.15個單位。例如絕對零度，即係一個物質完全冇熱能嘅情況，係 −273.15 °C 同埋 0 K。

2. For Vienna Standard Mean Ocean Water at one standard atmosphere (101.325 kPa) when calibrated solely per the two-point definition of thermodynamic temperature. Older definitions of the Celsius scale once defined the boiling point of water under one standard atmosphere as being precisely 100 °C.
