卡洛特·格莉絲喺第一幕當中飾演女主角芝莎;幅畫像係喺 1842 年畫嘅。

芝莎》(粵拼zi1 saa1法文Giselle, ou les Wilis法文讀音:[ʒi.zɛl u le vi.li])係浪漫芭蕾舞當中最出名嘅一齣兩幕芭蕾舞劇,俾好多人認同係古典芭蕾舞表演嘅一大傑作。芝莎史上首次公演於 1841 年 6 月 28 號嘅巴黎,由法國作曲家亞道夫亞當(Adolphe Adam)作曲,意大利裔芭蕾舞蹈員卡洛特·格莉絲(Carlotta Grisi)扮演女主角芝莎,並且好快就得到芭蕾舞界嘅廣泛讚賞,打後仲喺歐洲各地、俄羅斯、以至美國等地上演[1]。就算到咗廿一世紀,芝莎都仲成日俾現代嘅芭蕾舞團攞嚟返炒,俾人認同係最考舞蹈員技術嘅芭蕾舞劇之一[2]

芝莎嘅故仔係一個愛情悲劇:第一幕講生得靚女、但天真嘅村婦芝莎愛上咗男主角萊斯(Loys);萊斯查實係個貴族,真名叫艾伯列特(Albrecht),為咗避開佢未婚妻而假扮農民嚟到山旮旯嘅農村暫住;及後艾伯列特屋企人嚟農村,扚佢返去結婚,而芝莎亦都知道咗真相,冇幾耐芝莎仲死咗(死因視版本而定,多數版本話芝莎天生體質弱,因為受唔住打擊搞到心臟病發);第二幕講芝莎死咗化成幽靈,並且喺森林撞到一班棄婦嘅幽靈,呢班女鬼生前俾男人呃過,家陣死咗就靠喺森林殺死後生男人嚟出氣(方法係迫佢哋係噉勁跳舞,跳到攰死為止);有日,艾伯列特為咗掃芝莎嘅墓走入去森林,班女鬼想對艾伯列特落手,但芝莎出於愛而出手阻止佢哋,仲救返艾伯列特,展示咗純潔嘅愛之餘,亦都避免自己變成一隻凶惡嘅女鬼[3]

對好多評論家嚟講,芝莎嘅女鬼主題係最令人印象深刻嘅:喺所有版本嘅芝莎當中,都會有一個舞段係由扮演艾伯列特嘅男舞蹈員用跳舞表達恐懼等嘅情緒,同時會有班打扮成幽靈-著住長、白、而且輕飄飄嘅芭蕾舞裙-嘅女舞蹈員圍住佢跳舞,表達艾伯列特俾女鬼纏繞嘅情節,而芝莎嘅宣傳海報封面多數會係一個作幽靈打扮嘅女舞蹈員[3]
