一部(無論用血肉造定用金屬造嘅)機械入面可唔可以有啲睇唔到掂唔到探測唔到嘅嘢(靈魂)存在呢?

部機械入面嘅鬼魂粵拼bou6 gei1 haai6 jap6 min6 ge3 gwai2 wan4英文ghost in the machine)係英文入面嘅一個比喻,喺心靈哲學上俾人用嚟描述 17 世紀法國哲學家笛卡兒(Descartes)等學者所提倡嘅心身二元論(mind-body dualism)[1]

直至廿世紀都仲好有影響力嘅心身二元論主張,心靈同身體係相關但獨立存在嘅,但由廿世紀中開始,神經科學等領域上嘅研究明確噉表示咗,心靈嘅活動係要依賴身體嘅某啲部份先進行得到嘅,例如有好多研究都發現,某啲部位受損會搞到個人喪失某啲心智功能[2]。因為噉,心身二元論俾當時嘅學者指出為並唔合理,有哲學家用類似噉嘅說話總括佢哋對心身二元論嘅反對:「部機械(指個腦同神經系統其他部份)當中並冇乜嘢鬼魂(指探測唔到嘅心靈或者靈魂)喺入面」(「There is no ghost in the machine」)[3]
