黑糖麥包(brown bread)主要用全麥麵粉黑糖蜜(molasses)或咖啡整成嘅麵包。係加拿大(除魁北克省以東嘅幾個省),英國同南非,呢種包就噉叫全麥麵包。喺美國部份嘅地方叫佢做「麥麵」相對白麵包嚟講。

愛爾蘭大饑荒嗰時,一八四八年前,黑糖麥包派畀啲窮人[1]。喺英國麥包由麥芽整成[2]。 一八四五年前後,麥芽視之為下欄貨,賣得平。不過到咗一八六五年,發現咗麥糠(bran)對健康好, 喺倫敦嘅麥芽價錢就一時間升到貴過靚麵粉[3]
