阿西莫夫（Isaac Asimov，1920年1月2號—1992年4月6號）係喺俄羅斯出世嘅美國化學博士及科幻作家。

阿西莫夫嘅想像力好豐富，思維嚴密。佢嘅短篇小說出人意表，結局直到最後一個字先出現；長篇小說氣勢磅礡，探索人類、社會、時間、空間、物理定律等問題。渠筆下嘅主角雖然理性，但總係有血有肉。佢嘅機械人好有人性。

佐治盧卡斯嘅星球大戰深受銀河帝國三部曲同基地三部曲影響。為表示敬意，一啲細節亦向書中取材。
